There are generational gaps within the South Sudanese community along with cultural, educational and economic barriers as a whole that hinder the community and youth till this day. Here at YFGG we seek to bridge the gaps. While our focus is within the youth, serving as a community liaison and hosting outreach events has proven to be a proactive tool in promoting intercommunal harmony and advancement.

The refugee journey contains hurdles that are alive till this day. While there is a plethora of services and programs that serve to ease this life changing journey, there aren't many specific to the unique hinderance of the youth during the refugee process. After witnessing persistent negative patterns passed down from generation to generation,  YFGG sought to combat this by  empowering the youth. By providing them a voice and safe space to grow, YFGG is shifting the trajectory of an entire community by uplifting the youth who are indeed our future.

Through dialogues & community engagement the voices of the community we serve has always been and continues to be a significant contribution to our foundation. Our programming and events all take into consideration the distinctive circumstances and goals of our community. Together we are building the future, creating leaders, and ultimately a foundation for longevity and sustainability.
